My Story: Why I’m Running

Find out a bit more about me, why I’m running and how I’ve been doing the hard work locally setting the foundation for us to win next time round…

I Felt a Need For Change

In 2024 I decided I wanted to make a more positive difference to the world. After being a Lib Dem member and connected to the local party for almost a decade, I decided I wanted to go a step further. I’d held charity events, been a school governor and led the PTFA, but I wanted to help more people.  After growing and selling a business, I now had the freedom to start on my journey.

I have two little girls and I feel a deep need to be able to look them in the eyes and say that I am trying to make the world a better place. I can think of no greater motivation.

I gave it a go

In March 2024, I stood in a Farnham by-election against the Mayor. It was a long shot. I knew this area had not seen any campaign activity for years – and it is the years of leaflet drops and door knocking that got all our MPs winning their seats. But that didn’t deter me. I was going to do my absolute best within the short timescale of a by-election campaign.

I continued to campaign

I went on to campaign tirelessly in the general election to get us a Liberal Democrat MP, but a few of us giving it our all wasn’t enough, there wasn’t a solid plan and there hadn’t been the groundwork needed to win. We should have won, we could have won, but we didn’t, so I decided the only way to make sure at the next General Election the outcome was different, I had to do it myself.

Working hard

Since then I have been campaigning and championing Farnham & Bordon (and all the areas in between). I am the only candidate standing in this selection that has been here, in this area, since last year, campaigning, canvassing and creating a team, consistently, each week, each door, each conversation.

Don’t just take my word for it

I want you to hold me to my words and check my dedication. I want you to check your emails, your Whatsapps, the local newspaper and your call history, I have been engaging with you, emailing you, helping the local party and making a positive change. Let me continue and win.
